Hazardous Chemical Disposal
Environmental Safety and Emergency Management (ESEM) will provide pick up and containers for hazardous waste disposal.

Types of materials picked up:
Chemical Waste
- Acids
- Bases
- Solvents
- Oils
- Oil and latex paints
- Gasoline
- Chemical lab wastes
- Pesticides
- Batteries
- Mercury
- Photo chemicals
- Bio hazard and sharps waste
- Fixed tissues
How to collect waste for disposal:
- Label each container with its content.
- Keep waste separate for effective disposal costs. (Call 387-5590 if you have questions).
- Place sharps in an approved locking container.
- Place bio hazards in leak proof bag/container.
Other materials:
- Electronics wastes are recycled through Logistical Services 387-8811
- Fluorescent lamps are recycled through Custodial Services 387-8085
- Recycling Services 387-8165
Notify ESEM (387-5590) with location and we will remove for disposal.
Notify ESEM of any spills.
